Vault Covers, Hatches & Access Doors

Our vault cover and hatch line includes aluminum, steel, and cast iron access covers, doors, and hatch assemblies for utility vaults, underground structures, and meter vault applications. The BH® 58 “Sidewalk Plate” locking water meter vault access cover is one of our most frequently specified products for commercial meter installations in paved pedestrian areas. Aluminum and steel hatch doors are available in standard and custom dimensions for subsurface structures requiring a personnel or equipment access opening.

Locking Access Covers

When standard covers aren’t sufficient for the security requirements of a project, our locking access cover line covers traffic-rated and non-traffic applications across manhole, inlet, meter, and vault applications. With 45 products in this category, it is one of our deepest lines — spanning cast iron, ductile iron, and fabricated steel options for virtually any underground utility access point where tamper resistance is required.

Custom Fabricated Products

For project requirements that fall outside standard product dimensions or configurations, our custom fabrication line provides made-to-specification steel covers, enclosures, and access solutions. DURALAST® Detectable Warning Plates

Our DURALAST® detectable warning plates meet ADA accessibility requirements for truncated dome surface treatment at curb ramps, transit platforms, and other pedestrian hazard transition points. Cast iron construction provides the durability and slip resistance required for high-traffic pedestrian environments, and the plates are engineered to remain flush and stable under the freeze-thaw and loading cycles that plague lesser materials.
