Installation and Warranty Information
At Bass & Hays Foundry, Inc. (Bass & Hays® or BH®), we are committed to providing the highest quality American-made castings for the waterworks and infrastructure industries. To ensure the safety, longevity, and proper performance of our products, it is critical that they are installed correctly and used as intended. This disclaimer outlines the responsibilities of the customer and clarifies the limits of our role in the installation process.
Our Role and Responsibilities
Bass & Hays Foundry, Inc. is a manufacturer and supplier of quality castings. Our responsibility is focused on the product itself. Please be aware that BH is not responsible for:
- The selection of appropriate materials, tools, or equipment for any specific installation.
- Providing professional installation guidance, on-site advice, or project oversight.
- Inspecting or certifying installations performed by others.
Important Note: While our experienced team may offer suggestions or tips based on general industry knowledge, this information should not be considered professional advice. Any guidance provided by a BH representative does not replace the critical direction of certified inspectors, engineers, architects, contractors, or job superintendents responsible for your project.
Customer Responsibilities for Proper Installation
The end user, contractor, or project owner is solely responsible for the correct installation of our products. This ensures compliance with all safety standards and guarantees the product performs as designed.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring Compliance: You must ensure that all installations comply with applicable federal, state, municipal, and local standards and codes.
- Consulting Professionals: Always consult with certified professionals to guide, inspect, and approve the installation process.
- Intended Use: Use our products only for their intended applications. Follow all established government, engineering, and industry standards for proper use.
- Assuming Liability: BH does not assume liability for any issues arising from improper installation, product misuse, negligence, or a lack of qualified oversight on the job site.
Specific Guidelines for H-20 Traffic-Rated Products
Our H-20 and HS-20 traffic-rated castings are engineered to withstand heavy-duty loads, but their performance is entirely dependent on proper installation.
- Installation Requirements: Products designated as H-20 traffic-rated must be installed within a properly engineered concrete structure that includes adequate steel reinforcement. The installation must comply with job-specific blueprints and engineering standards.
- Voided Rating and Warranty: Improper installation voids the H-20 traffic rating and the original manufacturer’s warranty. If the product is not encased in a sufficient concrete and steel structure, it cannot be expected to perform to its rated capacity.
- Correct Application: Using a non-H-20 traffic-rated product in an H-20 application is considered misuse. Any failure or damage resulting from such use is not covered under warranty.
Warranty Information
Bass & Hays Foundry, Inc. offers no warranties, expressed or implied, beyond the original manufacturer’s warranty for the specific product.
To obtain a copy of the warranty for a product you have purchased, you can submit a written request. Please specify the product details and the job or project it was associated with to help us locate the relevant documentation.
By purchasing and installing products from Bass & Hays, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and responsibilities. We are dedicated to your project’s success by providing superior products, and we rely on your professional expertise to ensure they are installed for safe and lasting performance.
Thank you,
The Team at Bass & Hays Foundry, Inc.
