Bass & Hays® American made products are manufactured with LEED® certified US sourced recycled materials to promote accepting responsibility for a cleaner environment.
LEED® product certification may be provided by Bass & Hays Foundry to you on request. It will state that samples representing each lot you purchase have been tested, inspected and are in accordance with all of the LEED® requirements for your project. Bass & Hays products are manufactured in the U.S.A. from U.S. sourced recycled gray iron conforming to ASTM A48 or ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536. The material used to produce the castings has a minimum recycled content of 85%. The 85% recycled content is made up of approximately 20% post-consumer and 80% post industrial materials. For LEED® purposes this equates to 17% post-consumer and 68% post-industrial recycled materials content (17% + 68% = 85%). Our American Made products fully meet LEED® specifications.
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®) is transforming the way we think about how our buildings and communities are designed, constructed, maintained and operated across the globe. LEED® is an internationally recognized green building certification system providing third-party verification that a project, building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
LEED® is a green building tool that addresses the entire project life cycle recognizing best-in-class building strategies. It is a program that provides third-party verification of green projects. Build your projects to satisfy LEED® prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for the project. Use Bass & Hays® American made products to help meet your LEED® design goals.
